After a failed all-nighter hoping to photograph the northern lights which didn’t materialise, I managed a nice sunrise the following morning. I was more or less ready to give up and go home when I thought I would have a wander along Low Hauxley Beach in Northumberland. The rocks down at the shoreline were just becoming uncovered by the receding tide so I set up and took a few shots. The light was nice reflecting off the waves and the wet seaweed made the image for me.
